I 1975 fik Vietnam sin genforening. På det tidspunkt var Saigon Sydvietnams regeringsby, men efter genforeningen blev Hanoi igen hovedstad, og Saigon fik sit nuværende navn Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City er Vietnams største og mest moderne by. Ligesom i Hanoi, har bybilledet ændret sig fra at være domineret af cykler til i dag at være domineret af scootere, motorcykler og knallerter. I byen findes der grønne parker, som kan være et befriende besøg, hvis du trænger til åndehul i den hektiske trafik. Besøg også byens gamle China Town med det store marked og den smukke pagode.
