A stop in Amsterdam offers the chance to explore the sights of one of Europe’s most colorful, dynamic and historic cities—one with a well-earned reputation as a laid-back and inviting place for people of all stripes. Tucked away in a snug corner of the Hardangerfjord, the small, scenic village of Ulvik sits along the shoreline, with orchards filling the green hills behind. This popular little resort is an excellent place to unwind with hiking trails that crisscross the rough uplands to the north of Ulvik, and meander along the surrounding shoreline. The townspeople are justly proud and happy to share their “kulturlandskapsplan” (culture landscape plan), in which four designated areas incorporate both footpaths and historic sights, including the Ljonakleiv crofter’s farm in the hills above the village.
The countryside is laced with lakes and vast peat bogs. Pause in the Tingwall valley to see the petite Shetland ponies; explore Jarlshof’s Stone, Bronze and Iron age ruins; take a ferry to Mousa to see the 200-year-old “broch,” or castle.

Today it boasts a population of around 17,000, a scenic harbor and an array of interesting shops, buzzy cafés and upscale restaurants. Its main sights include the Akureyri Church, a wonderful botanical garden (founded in 1912) and the fascinating Akureyri Museum.
From here it’s possible to explore some of the country’s most memorable landscapes, starting with Akureyri’s own fjord, Eyjafjörður, where you’ll find several museums (including the Icelandic Folk and Outsider Art Museum), fishing villages like Grenivík and plenty of dramatic mountain scenery. Farther afield are the island of Grímsey, the volcanic wonderland of Lake Mývatn and a whole host of waterfalls, gorges, churches and saga sites.

The name “Qaqortoq” means “the White Place,” and indeed, 85% of the area is under ice. Explore the small town of 3,400 and learn how people survive on this immense, remote island administered by the Danes but desperate for individual recognition of its distinctive culture.
Greenland’s southernmost town, Nanortalik is surrounded by the steep mountain peaks of Tasermiut Fjord – whose rugged landscape and lush vegetation attracts serious climbers all year long. Inside the fjord are the ruins of an Augustinian monastery and the towering trees of the Qingua Valley. In this region, the northern lights dance across the sky in the evenings and polar bears have been known to drift by on ice floes.
Visit the old town around the colonial harbor where the museum includes exhibits of rare Norse clothing. This harbor is thought to be the last point of departure of the Norse voyagers when they sailed to or from Greenland. The importance of the site is evidenced in the ruins of boathouses. Take a chilly trip to the ice cap by boat, or warm up in the natural hot springs at Uunartoq.

Explore the islands varied scenery from fjord-like lochs and dramatic sea-cliffs to barren peat moors and romantic heather covered uplands; marvel at the mysterious Standing Stones at Callanish, the most remarkable piece of antiquity in the Western Isles; and shop for famous Harris Tweed, hand-woven and uniquely dyed using indigenous plants.

Soveafdelingen består af en kingsize-seng, et stort klædeskab samt et badeværelse med badekar og separat bruseniche. Krydstogtskibet Nieuw Statendam er Holland-America Lines bud på fremtidens krydstogtskib, som sejlede sin jomfrurejse i december 2018.
Skibet er rederiets største og en del af Pinnacle-klassen med plads til 2.650 passagerer. Skibets indretning og interiør er inspireret af musikinstrumenters kurvede former.
Ombord finder man kahytter og suiter af forskellig karakter og størrelse, samt flere restauranter at vælge imellem, som blandt andet tilbyder fisk og skaldyr, grillmad samt retter fra både det franske, det asiatiske og det italienske køkken. Som noget helt nyt tilbyder rederiet kulinariske specialiteter krydret med friske urter fra skibets eget krydderurtecenter.
Der tilbydes masser af underholdning ombord for både voksne og barnlige sjæle. Blandt andet i teateret The World Stage, som har en 270-graders LED-skærm, der bruges til de mange optrædener, men også ved den store Lido Pool, hvor der vises film under stjernehimlen på åbent vand. Skibet tilbyder ligeledes aktiviteter for børn. Der er klubber for børn og teenagere i alderen 5-17 år.
